Ibiza has been on globetrotters’ radar screens since time immemorial; a travel destination, and one that’s never fallen out of fashion. We’re grateful for that, so the third Saturday in September, for the last thirty years, we have celebrated “Día del Turista”—Day of the Tourist. This year it will be the 21st, when, both the Eivissa Council and the towns and hotels of the island pay tribute to all those who for years have chosen Ibiza.
When September arrives, even the remotest corners of the island are awash with scenes of hat-tipping to Ibiza’s yearly returning visitors. Displays of traditional ball pagès dancing, samplings of local culinary favourites and myriad events all across the island combine with the Council’s show of appreciation for all those visitors whose Ibiza experience now exceeds 25 years.
Check out this year’s lineup of activities when you get here. And thanks for coming!
