Jesús church

This church goes back to the end of the 15th century when Franciscan monks had settled there, although the church underwent different phases of work until the 16th century. Due to its location in the town of Nuestra Señora de Jesús, not far from Ibiza Town, at the beginning it was often frequented by sailors.

It is a very simple church with a single semi-circle vault nave and six side chapels. Its altarpiece is a pictorial gem par excellence given that it is a table that was painted by Valencian father and son, Rodrigo de Osona, between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century. This altarpiece was recently restored.

On the main façade, at one side of the door, you’ll find a traditional porch which is accessed by two steps and it opens with four exterior arcades.

The parish festival is held on September 8th, the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady.
