At the Berlin Tourism Fair, ITB, the Consell d’Eivissa has presented the campaign “Sustainable Ibiza”, an initiative that aims to promote environmentally friendly tourism.
At this fair, the Ibiza booth, decorated with natural elements of the island such as Posidonia, hosted a number of events aimed at promoting the values of responsible tourism, such as environmental awareness and recycling, which are highly regarded by German tourism. This promotional campaign also includes the “Ibiza Plogging” activity, aimed at promoting waste collection while practising sport in the different municipalities of the island.
An online survey of tourism reputation, based on 696,500 opinions collected through the different applications and websites of this institution, states that its users rated the island’s accommodation, restaurants, beaches and cuisine with scores ranging from 8 to 10 (the lowest rating being 1 and the highest 10). Natural areas such as Vedrà or the walled city of Dalt Vila, which is a World Heritage Site, are some of the highest ranked for their great historical, heritage and environmental value.
In addition, at this international tourism fair, the white island presented other interesting proposals for the German market such as family tourism, gastronomic tourism and sports tourism. Ibiza is also presented as a paradise for LGTB tourism, the philosophy of the Ibizan people, which has two important aspects, security and freedom, together with its wide range of leisure activities, paradisiacal beaches and excellent cuisine, making it the perfect destination for this group.
