The Moon Poetry Festival begins this Thursday, 13 June, and will last until Sunday, 16 June, in various venues on the island.
This event, created by the artists Carles Fabregat and Joan Murenu, will fill the last days of spring on Ibiza with musical and folklore performances and large doses of poetry. The opening of the event will take place at 8 pm in the Sa Cultural bookshop, with a colloquium featuring poets Julio Herranz and Ben Clark, in which they will discuss the present, past and future of this literary style.

The Majorcan artist, Medal of Honour of the Parliament of Catalonia and Honorary Doctor of the Board of Governers of the University of the Balearic Islands, will perform with Dani Espasa in the cloister of Ibiza Town Hall.
To continue this programme of activities, on Saturday, the festival will move to the church of Sant Miquel de Balansat, where at 12.00 midday there will be a tribute to the Ibizan poet Marià Villangómez presented by the director of the Encyclopedia of Ibiza and Formentera, Felip Cirer, featuring the singer Joan Murenu and the Colla de Balansat. In the evening the activities will take place in the cloister of Ibiza Town Hall, with the “Nit de Poesia” in which poets Margarita Ballester, Annie Bats, Joao Luis Barreto, Ben Clark, Mercè Climent, Antonio Colinas, Maria T. Ferrer, Antonio Lucas, Biel Mesquida and Eva Tur will give free rein to their poems with Santi Pérez’s piano performance.
