Despite the fact that Ibiza is known internationally for fun and enjoyment, it has another important aspect, which is the peace and tranquillity of the island. The Consell d’Eivissa’s slogan “All islands in one,” embodies the perfect dichotomy of enjoying both day and night time in equal measure, and without risk either way, as the multicultural nature of the island and all that it offers are so varied that you can experience Ibiza in innumerable ways. Hotels, agritourism and tourist villas offering accommodation on the island are well aware of this, and this summer they have redoubled their efforts to ensure that the holidays of thousands of visitors who choose the island as a holiday destination will have a truly memorable experience.
The confinement and the COVID-19 health crisis have made us appreciate our freedom, space and nature so much more, and also how lucky we are to be able to enjoy a natural paradise like Ibiza. All the establishments that have opened their doors in 2020 have adapted to the new regulations and recommendations imposed by the WHO , the Government of the Balearic Islands and the Government of Spain, and have obeyed those requirements to the last letter, in order to guarantee the safety of their guests and all their facilities.
This season, approximately 30 to 40% of the island’s available accommodation are open, according to data obtained from the Hotel Federation, with a firm commitment to the island, their staff, and their guests, and with discounts, benefits and the possibility of being able to cancel their holiday free of charge in the event of any trouble arising. Furthermore, all these establishments scrupulously comply with the numbers allowed, and have implemented the requisite safety measures in communal areas. How do they do it?
- Many establishments have included in their welcome kits a set, comprising a mask and sanitising gel.
- They have extended the breakfast areas with breakfast served by personnel.
- Half board facilities have been restricted and restaurants are serving an à la carte menu.
- Hygiene and cleanliness measures have been increased in all areas.
- Access to spas and other communal areas will be by prior appointment.
- Guests will have their temperature taken and they will be informed of the compulsory safety regulations on the island (such as wearing a mask in all public and private zones, except on the beach, in swimming pools, sea front promenades and restaurants when drinking or eating).
- Screens have been installed in reception and other communal areas.
- Amenities have been removed, magazines and books will no longer be supplied in hotel rooms in order to avoid any contact.
- Menus have been adapted to the QR Code System.
Tourist apartments and villas are also fulfilling identical protocols to ensure that Ibiza continues to be one of the safest destinations in Spain, where you can sleep at night with the sweetest dreams, and your days will be filled with amazing adventures.
