September was witness to the birth of the family holiday initiative, Ibiza Family Moments, the product of a partnership between the regional government or Consell Insular d’Eivissa and five town councils on the island which aims to position Ibiza in this segment across national and international markets.
To do so, FECOEV MP SAU called a public procurement tender for a technical office in charge of the development, monitoring, maintenance and promotional strategy of this tourism club. The tender was called in June and the successful bidder was the entity Fomento del Turismo de Ibiza.
A label with experience
Ibiza Family Moments is born as a product, marking and brand for the entire island, to bring together the different family holiday initiatives developed on the island in collaboration with the public and private sectors. A project inspired by the Family Moments certification created a few years ago by the Town Council of Santa Eulària des Riu, aware of how important the family holiday segment is on the island, especially for some areas and holiday establishments.
This pioneering initiative means sharing with other town councils on the island the knowledge gained over the past years since this label was implemented as one of the actions of the Action Plan developed by FECOEV M.P. S.A.U. to promote tourism on the island of Ibiza in 2024. This Plan expressly shows the intention of the Tourism Promotion Department of the Consell Insular d’Eivisa to develop and manage a family holiday club and carry out special promotional actions highlighting the island as a holiday destination for this segment.
Goals and requirements
The new tourism product, Ibiza Family Moments, will especially focus on areas that, given their location, features or planning strategy, among other factors, are the best candidates to become part of the product club. Some of the goals sought during its development include: structuring the existing offer, boosting and encouraging specialisation, consolidating and gaining the loyalty of public and private agents who are part of the certification, improving communications with holiday markets to strengthen Ibiza’s positioning in this segment and implementing the holiday club, Ibiza Family Moments, which will rely on hotels, restaurants, leisure activities, beaches, tourist offices, museums and interpretation centres, routes and events that are ideal for the family holiday segment.
