Following a public tender, Fires, Congressos i Esdeveniments D’Eivissa, S.A.U. has awarded Metrópolis Comunicación S.L. with the contract to provide an all-in-one service to manage and create content for Ibiza Travel’s official social media.
Four companies bid for this contract, which began this October and will last 12 months, but may be extended for another year. The successful bidder, Metrópolis Comunicación S.L., is an expert on Ibiza and the Balearic Islands after managing the contents for the tourism website and social media of Ibiza’s Town Council, handling communications for the airports of Ibiza, Palma de Mallorca and Menorca, and as community manager of the Balearic Women’s Institute (Instituto Balear de la Mujer).
Purpose and actions
The all-in-one service devoted to managing and creating contents for the official SM accounts that promote tourism on the island will pursue the goals set in the Ibiza Strategic Marketing Plan, which aims to draw in quality tourism focusing on the following targets: family tourism, cultural tourism, active tourism, water sports and engineless sailing tourism, food tourism and event tourism. For the time being, Spain, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, Austria, Ireland, United States and Brazil remain as the priority markets for the strategic SM plan.
The services to be provided by the successful bidder are preparing the SM plan and content strategy, which includes, among other things, refocusing on handling the official SM accounts used to promote Ibiza’s tourism, execute content optimisation and streamlining actions through games, competitions and gamification, lead marketing campaigns with influencers, and design, launch and track SM ads.
Some of the biggest goals of the tendered contract are: increasing Ibiza Travel’s web traffic, gaining insight into the market through social listening, increasing user interaction and the reach of posts on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Pinterest and Youtube, and the opening and development of a new Ibiza Travel profile on Tick Tock aiming to reach at least 10,000 followers.
