The Italian, Portuguese and German markets were the consolidator countries chosen by the tourism promotion department to take part in two familiarisation trips.

The first trip was organised in May in partnership with Turespaña, who chose a group of representatives from eight Portuguese consolidators to travel to Ibiza and explore the island first-hand. This action was greatly appreciated given the constant growth of the Portuguese market, with a 5.83% increase in passenger inflow from this country compared to 2023. For this Fam Trip, Ibiza Travel arranged a comprehensive travel plan to showcase the most attractive sites on the coast and inland, as well as our cultural heritage, the broad range of outdoor activities and the rich variety in local cuisine.

Fam Trip for the German market

Late September, the tourism promotion department hosted a familiarisation trip in partnership with the Spanish Tourism Office in Frankfurt. This action was aimed to show the appeals of the island to seven German tour operators who specialise in active and nature holidays. For this reason, the tourism promotion department prepared a fully active itinerary including walks, kayaking, sailing and cycling in different areas on the coast or inland to provide them with a global view of the island’s scenery.

Ibiza in Corriere della Sera

The largest newspaper in Italy, the Corriere della Sera, published a guide about Ibiza in its travel magazine, Dove, after the press trip organised for two journalists from this media last July. The island’s tourism promotion department worked with the magazine to prepare the trip focusing on cultural visits and local food. Therefore, the online guide published in Dove highlights must-sees like Dalt Vila, the Ibizan Contemporary Art Museum (MACE), the Necropolis of Puig des Molins and the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, among other sites. The guide also provides information on Ibiza’s history, beaches, food, restaurants, hotels, weather and transport.
