The promotional activity carried out in the last few months has brought Ibiza’s appeals to the World Travel Market trade fair in London and to the IBTM World trade fair in Barcelona, but also to the Turespaña industry days aimed at supporting trade in the Latin American, South Asian and Chinese markets.

World Travel Market 2024

Considered one of the biggest holiday trade fairs worldwide, the 45th edition of the World Travel Market (WTM) fair ended with a 6% rise in its visitor rate compared to the previous year, with as many as 46,316 visitors. During this important event held in London from 5th to 7th November, Ibiza’s Tourism Promotion team hosted 30 meetings with different British tour operators, travel agencies, media outlets and holiday professionals from its destination stand. Its co-exhibitors also had many ap-pointments with different players from the British holiday market, which accounted for one in every five tourists visiting Ibiza last season.

Besides the promotion activities carried out at the stand, the team organised the “Embrace the Authentic Ibiza” event held at The Mandrake Hotel on 6th November and welcomed 54 experts from the holiday industry, including TV journalists, travel and lifestyle magazines. During the event, they introduced the latest offering and praised the loyalty shown by British tourists over the years, bringing visibility to the good old Ibiza as a coveted destination for so many generations of British people since the sixties for its unique coves, iconic beach bars, fun activities for the family and charming rooms, among other delights.

IBTM World 2024

IBTM World 2024

From 19th to 21st November, Ibiza’s Tourism Promotion hosted its own stand at the IBTM World trade fair in Barcelona to consolidate the island as an attractive destina-tion for conferences, incentive trips and high-level meetings. During the fair, the team held about 40 meetings with corporate and incentive event organisers, agen-cies, international tour operators and marketing experts from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United States. These meetings served to highlight Ibiza’s worth as a MICE destination, from the quality of the infra-structures and the beauty of the environment, to other appeals like food, culture and nature activities, among others. The stand had 19 co-exhibitors and drew in many visitors throughout the fair, which is a win for this strategic promotional action aimed at attracting tourists to the island all year round.

Jornadas profesionales de Turespaña

Ibiza Travel took part in the industry days aimed at supporting trade and organised by Turespaña in October and November. This year, they were devoted to the Latin American, Chinese and South Asian markets. The industry days focusing on the Latin American market were held in Barcelona from 28th to 31st October and Ibiza Travel had 64 meetings, with special interest shown by the Brazilian and Mexican consolidator markets.

World Travel Market 2024

The next two industry days took Ibiza all the way over to the Asian market for the first time, which became a great promotional action to kick off Ibiza’s positioning. During the industry days devoted to Southern Asia (Singapore, from 18th – 20th November), Ibiza Travel held 30 meetings with hosted buyers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Philippines, all of them tour operators.  As for the industry days held in Shanghai from 20th to 22nd November, the team hosted 34 meetings with tour operators from the main Chinese cities that already work with Europe and Spain.
