In September and October, the Department for Tourism Promotion ran several actions to strengthen the positioning of Ibiza as travel destination in the German, Norwegian, Italian and French markets, organising fam trips and attending professional events in the travel industry.
Press Trips and Fam Trips
The German and Norwegian markets were the consolidator markets chosen to take part in the press and fam trips arranged for the end of season, where the Depart-ment especially highlighted the island’s offering in adventure and activity, wellness and premium holidays.
This programme of promotional trips kicked off on 25th September with the visit from four German journalists who specialise in sports travel and lifestyle on a four-day press trip. During this trip, they were able to experience the island’s holiday at-tractions through cultural visits to the most iconic sites in Ibiza declared World Her-itage and other Cultural Property sites as well as outdoor activities, wine-food expe-riences and strolls through flea markets.
Meanwhile, from 27th to 30th September, another fam trip was arranged together with the Spanish Tourism Office in Frankfurt which hosted ten German premium agencies. This trip gave them the chance to enjoy a varied activity programme that included local food, wellness activities and visits to different accommodations re-quested by the agencies themselves.
Lastly, from 10th till 13th October, five Norwegian agencies specialising in adventure and activity holidays and wellness trips, who were invited together with the Spanish Tourism Office in Oslo, explored Ibiza with an activity programme that included hik-ing, yoga and bike rides, giving them the chance to discover the natural charms of this destination.
TTG Travel Experience Fair (Italy)
From 8th until 10th October, the Department for Tourism Promotion took part in the TTG Travel Experience Fair in Rimini, the biggest professional event in the Ital-ian travel industry. The Department was present at the Spanish stand alongside oth-er Spanish destinations. It was able therefore to gain visibility at this big event which is visited by tour operators, agencies, holiday services businesses, airlines, cruise companies and technology and innovation companies from all over the world. It is a key platform to strengthen trade relationships and explore new opportunities in the Italian market, the third top source of visitors travelling to Ibiza in 2025.
PURE Spain (France)
Attracting the French MICE segment was the Department’s goal in attending PURE Spain, an industry day organised by the Spanish Tourism Office in Paris last 16th October. This event gathered event organisers, corporate travel agencies and busi-nesses specialising in meetings and incentives. Through 35 B2B meetings, the De-partment for Tourism Promotion introduced Ibiza’s differentiated offer to promote the island as the ideal destination for business travel and strengthen its position in the French MICE market.
