Right in the heart of the island, you’ll find this island in the centre of the town of Santa Gertrudis and it goes back to the 18th century.
This church had a single semi-circle vault nave and six chapels, but it was extended to accommodate a larger number of parishioners and now it is “L” shaped. A noteworthy feature is its white coloured bell tower two bells, which is the biggest of all the rural churches on the islands. Its porch extends the whole length of the main façade.
The parish festival is held on November 16th, the feast of Saint Gertrude the Great 16th.
