This monastery is the oldest of the existing inland institutions, given that it was founded back in 1599 although the current building dates from the middle of the 20th century.
Therefore although the building is modern, inside it has many historical art objects that have been accumulating over the centuries. The main altarpiece dating from 1685 and designed by Barcelona artist Pere Serra is a highlight
It is known as the convent of “Ses Monges Tancades” (the enclosed nuns) by the religious cloister nuns who reside in it. These nuns make cakes that may be purchased in the annexed building (after ringing a bell for attention).
The parish festival is held on July 20th, the feast of Saint Christopher.
