In autumn, Ibizan kitchens are filled with colours, textures and tastes, and soups and stews are back on the menu in line with culinary tradition, typical at this time of year. ‘Eating in Ibiza’, the first gastronomic event organised by Ibiza Tourism Development in collaboration with the island government, Consell d´Eivissa, deliberately chose this season to showcase the wealth of excellent quality products from the island’s fields and coastal waters. This initiative is an invitation to discover Ibizan customs as winter approaches, such as the annual pig slaughtering, and the grape, almond and olive harvests, all of which are reflected in the dishes that will be served by a number of different restaurants.

A total of 28 establishments from all over the island have joined this venture, offering menus for 25 euros, or tapas and a drink for 7 euros. In the city of Ibiza, Ca n’Alfredo, Cbbc Ebusus, Club Náutico Ibiza, Reart and Sa Nansa are all taking part, while in Sant Antoni de Portmany, Es Nàutic Sant Antoni, Es Ventall, Grill Sant Antoni and Es Rebost de Can Prats have joined in this venture. In Sant Josep de sa Talaia you can enjoy the culinary treats on offer in Sa Caleta, Ca na Sofía, S’Espardell, Rascalobos and Es Pla and in Santa Eulària des Riu, Cbbc Marina, El Corsario Negro, Celler de Can Pere, Ca n’Anneta, Can Caus, Oleoteca Ses Escoles, Es Jardins de Fruitera, Degusta Ibiza, Cas Gasí, Can Cosmi, Can Curreu and Estel are all participating. And finally, in Sant Joan de Labritja, Cana Hathai and The Boat House invite you to eat up the island.

In addition, and as part of these gastronomic culinary celebrations, a total of six culinary events have been organised which will be open to the public until the venue is full, ensuring all security and distancing measures are fulfilled, and showcasing the herbs, wine, squid, oil and edible flowers native to the island, or helping you to discover a little more about its history.

The website https://www.eatinginibiza.com/ has a link that you can click to discover the dates and times of the restaurants taking part, and the menus or tapas that they offer with some truly delicious options to choose from.

The plan for this autumn is clear: get a taste of the best of Ibiza’s cuisine. Bon appétit or as we say on Ibiza: Bon profit!
