There are three ways of experiencing your holidays, first, there is the planning stage, then you go and enjoy them, and finally you remember them. This article aims to ensure that you will never forget them by providing a few hints on the photos that you should take during your visit to Ibiza.

There are ten places that are guaranteed to make your virtual or real photo album a total success, filled with memorable moments.

There are many legendary island views, such as the islets of Es Vedrà and es Vedranell, the sunsets viewed from the famous Café Mambo or Café del Mar or some of Ibiza’s famous beaches such as Ses Salines, Platges de Comte or Benirràs, but what we propose here is to recreate, snapshot by snapshot, the essential and most magical vistas of a different Ibiza. And if you share these images on our social networks you can also take part in a competition organised by the island’s Consell d´Eivissa, with the prize of a return trip to Ibiza; check out the rules of the competition here.

  1. Dalt Vila: any of its streets are an essential and totally instagrammable target, so a visit wandering its cobbled streets is a must. Also with its traditional architecture and surroundings, every shot you take will look like a scene from another era.
  2. The Ibizan skyline: Dalt Vila, sitting atop its hill, is one of the most stunning sights that greet you as you arrive in Ibiza, albeit by boat or plane. A good place to capture this image is from Botafoc Ibiza from the quayside at the Marina Ibiza. We also recommend the esplanade or Paseo Maritimo all around the port for viewing the most exclusive part of the island.
  3. Es Bol Nou: the island beaches are an essential in this list but getting a really special shot can be a challenge. Although this is not a particularly original image, it has that special something that makes for a good photo selection.
  4. The Cala Llentia monuments: this is another place with a special magic all its own. It comprises thirteen columns with a monolith 24 metres high, topped with a golden plate entitled “Time and Space”. It is part of the Rythms of Life, a collection consisting of fifty representations distributed in different parts of the world, funded by the creator of Cirque du Soleil, Guy Laliberté. The monument has a really curious story that you can read about here. Close by what has come to be known as the Ibizan Stonehenge you will find doors with Arab inscriptions that open onto a room without walls. We still do not know who built this installation, but it makes for a very interesting photo.
  5. Puig de Missa, Santa Eulària: both the amazing views and the architecture or the typical houses in this neighbourhood make this area of Ibiza an absolute must.
  6. S’illot des Renclí: is a little beach in the north of the island which encapsulates all the charm of the Mediterranean in just a few metres. Its fishermen’s cottages and the surrounding red earth are picture postcard perfect.
  7. The village of Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera: its main square alone should not be missed on any trip to the island, both for the bars that line it and its cosmopolitan atmosphere and views.
  8. Ibizan architecture: the island’s typical buildings should be a permanent fixture in any list of photos. Despite the fact that there are innumerable possibilities all over the island, Ca n’Andreu, in the village of Sant Carles de Peralta, is one recommendation that should be followed up, as a visit will enable you to discover more about the rural way of life in Ibiza’s past, and the village has a very special charm.
  9. The Moscarter lighthouse in Portinatx: this differs from all the island’s other lighthouses due to its later construction. Over 50 metres high, built on an impressive cliff, you will have quite a walk to get there, but you will be rewarded with a very special photo.
  10. The lunar landscape of Portinatx: this beach at Punta de sa Torre, looks like something from another planet, due to the erosion of the grey and white rocks that surround the cove and some of which form a natural stone bridge. Our final recommendation is to have a swim and take your last photo here.
