Over the first two months of the year, the Department for Tourism Promotion showed the island’s attractions and news at the trade fairs of Fitur (Madrid) and BIT (Milan). During this period, the team also travelled to the UK to attend the workshop organised by the specialised media outlet Travel Bulletin.

Fitur 2025

Ibiza Travel was once again present at Fitur, the most important tourism fair in Spain, with its own 300m2 stand and an agenda full of meetings and gatherings with tour operators, communication agencies, travel media, airlines and other players in the holiday industry. Held in Madrid from 22nd till 26th January, this edition had a total 14 co-exhibitors, including businesses and institutions from the island, who in-troduced their latest services, holiday products and fun and sports events.

Besides the actions at the fair site, the Department for Tourism Promotion of the Consell d’Eivissa organised the Ibiza Sports Destination event (Ibiza Destino Deporti-vo), where it introduced to the media the eight sports events that have official tourist attraction status with the presence of elite athletes appointed as ambassadors of each event: Alberto Contador, Miguel Indurain, Elena Congost, Marc Tur, Dani Mateo, Mónica Azón, Cristina Palomo, Núria Picas and Laura Luengo. An action aimed at turning the island into a world leader in sports travel.

Over the weekend, the team at the stand led several actions for visitors to showcase different aspects of the island’s culture and traditions, as well as Ibizan crafts, music and magic shows, plays for children, pottery workshops and local produce tastings, among other activities.

BIT Milano 2025 Fair

Held in Milan from 9th till 11th February, Ibiza Travel had its own 20m2 stand and a hotel business as co-exhibitor. This general-interest fair for industry professionals and end users, is interesting given its promotional pull in the Italian market, as it’s the fourth market in terms of visitors travelling to Ibiza.

Workshop on Spain & Islands

The Department for Tourism Promotion of Ibiza travelled to the British city of Ox-ford last 24th February for a workshop aimed at industry professionals organised by the British holiday magazine Travel Bulletin. Devoted to Spain and its islands, the team went there to introduce to travel agencies and holiday operators the new products and services expected in 2025 and Ibiza’s attractions as a holiday destina-tion outside the peak season too.
