Ses Figueretes is the only urban beach in the city. It is located within the neighborhood under the same name. This is because, until the mid 20th century, it was a rural area covered with fig trees (figueres is the Catalan word for fig trees). This Beach is formed by a large ensemble of fine sand inlets and clear waters. It is family-friendly and frequented both by residents and tourists staying in the surroundings. This beach is equipped with all kinds of services, such as hammocks, umbrellas, showers, access for disabled people, restaurants, bars, and shops.
During the summer, Ses Figueretes seafront promenade becomes the point of departure and arrival of small boats. Furthermore, in the evening it holds a popular handicrafts flea market. It has splendid sights to the walled area of Dalt Vila and it is connected to Platja d’en Bossa through a small port of fishing boats.
